Making good on Thomas Edison’s solar prediction… on the roof of his childhood home.

After democratizing energy with the lightbulb, Thomas Edison told Henry Ford, “I’d put my money on the sun. What a source of power!”

100 years later, Enphase fulfilled that prediction with the first truly affordable solar energy system. To celebrate, we launched it… on the roof of Edison’s childhood home.

We shared the journey of the light bulb in a film directed by rubberband & filled with licensed archival footage from the Edison Foundation.

We overhauled the Edison Museum, from the roof to the gift shop.

Solar installation on the museum was finally completed in 2024—and, to our surprise, so were solar t-shirts in the gift shop.
